WorldQuant to donate up to $30,000 to competition partners
OLD GREENWICH, Conn.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–WorldQuant, the global quantitative asset management firm, announced
that it launched Women
Who Quant, an international online competition and learning
opportunity designed with the goal of increasing the participation of,
and opportunities for, women in quantitative finance. The competition
will run through March 10, 2019, and was developed in collaboration with
Women 2.0, Women Who Code and 100 Women in Finance.
“We are seeking to further empower women quants and provide increased
access to educational and professional opportunities around the world.
We are excited to partner with leading organizations focused on
advancing women in technology, finance and data science,” said Igor
Tulchinsky, Founder, Chairman and CEO of WorldQuant.
Participants will test their skills building algorithms (“alphas”) on
WorldQuant’s online market simulation platform, called WebSim, and
expand their quantitative finance knowledge through live and recorded
skill-building sessions. Competitors will be eligible to win cash prizes
(or cash equivalent), and the top scorer will have the ability to select
one of WorldQuant’s event partners to receive an additional donation
from the company. Participants who perform well in the Women Who Quant
competition may also be considered for opportunities to join
WorldQuant’s global team of research consultants or to apply for
full-time employment or internship positions.
Participants can register for the competition through March 5, 2019 by
WorldQuant will donate $1 for each registrant, up to $30,000 total, to
be distributed evenly across the three event partner organizations.
